the reason they are not legal in Ontario is because Ontario classifies trikes as motorcycles and to be a motorcycle it needs a seat you straddle, a handlebar (not a steering wheel) and separate break system for the front and back brake. Also it can't have a "cage" around the driver. To classify it as a car, then you need 5mph bumpers and a bunch of other things. This trike is neither a car or a motorcycle in Ontario.

No cause it's a home built "2 wheels in the front" bike. Plus it had no fenders.

There was a dealer up in Smiths Falls a few years back who sold a few of them. Owners had no problems getting plates for them, but apparently finding an insurance carrier took some legwork. I think the $50k+ entry fee was more of a sales deterrent than the MTO, but your link to the MTO website does make me wonder how they managed to get them road legal here in Ontario.
