WHAT ARE SOME GOOD MODIFICATIONS?? - Supersport bikes!

Well it's obvious I'm excited i just picked up my new to me bike today and i can't wait to ride the thing. I have a few questions regarding modifications. On my dirt bikes i always had to have the suspension done. is this necessary for a supersport bike? How about things like exhausts? is there any noticeable gain in power or is it just a bragging thing? i know some people like to have the bling bling on their bike for bragging rights but I'm wondering if theres an actual gain from something like an exhaust or speed shifter on a supersport. to be honest the stock exhaust on this bike is hideous i can change it but only if theres a difference in power otherwise i can deal with it.

what mods do you have on your bike and why did you chose them? is it functionality or a bling bling show off thing? what mods would you do all over and what mods would you not repeat? thanks for any info and please keep the thread on topic because i don't want this thread to go to the trash. thanks again!

id say putting a pipe on it would be a good start. it is a functional mod, as it does add power.

in terms of suspension, you dont have to upgrade it. its a modern SS, so its quite good stock. but, you could have it set-up for your weight, for better handling...

other than that id say air fliter, and maybe an actualy tune for your motor/ecu...

TWISTED - Thanks for the suggestion but I'm not interested in going to the track. not an enjoyment for me. i just want something fun to ride in the summer and go on rides with my friends. not looking to compete or win trophies.

DAN - thanks man, i will look into that. any good shops that you can recommend for the suspension tune?

VENO - what is the purpose of "braided lines"? also roughly how much power can be had for a full performance exhaust?

thanks again all

Honestly, get stuff that pretties up the bike. Kawi's be uuuuuuuugly. :p

Any perf upgrades are way more dollars for the gains you'll see/feel.

Pipe, fender eliminator, perhaps some flushmount lights, maybe aftermarket billet pieces to dress up the stock plastics (mirrors, pegs etc), grips perhaps... windscreen maybe.

The last point in your signature is hilarious.

Taking a track course isn't about racing. It teaches you how to handle a bike better and you can translate it to the street.

Fender eliminators are a must on sport bikes. Other than that ride it and enjoy it. Modify next year.
