The image floats on top of the water. This is commonly used to apply camo patterns to gun stocks (or whatever else). The preprinted sheets Aren't cheap.
Hydro-dipping...been around for years! It's used a lot on rifle stocks. It's not like plastidip at all. It's a water transfer design that will get a good coat of clear coat afterwards to make it last a long time.
