unsure where to post... customizing motorcycle shops?

I think thats something you can do yourself. Im sure there are a lot of youtube videos out there to guide you through it. just make sure you go for contrast since matching leds never really match.

it really comes down to safety. ive painted my bike matte black via plastidip and my gear is all black as well. i wanted some sort of LED to shine bright enough for other drivers on the road to acknowledge me from a distance away.
 
I vote against this as well, but to each his own.

But if you must, 22 Customs does proper work.

I vote no too. You can put lights in other places so you see the glow. Good luck though. Everyone has their own tastes :thumbup:
 
Why do you guys insist on taking this off topic? the guy didn't ask whether or not he should get them done, he simply asked where. its his bike let him do what he wants.

-______________-. LED strips anywhere on the bike. i just thought rims because i thought they looked cool when i seen a couple youtube videos. but if im going to look like an idiot doing it. ill jus slam them in and about the body.
 
Not to be that guy but I think you have to watch the color too? Perhaps someone can chime in but ninth ought there was a law about forward or rear facing red blue green lights? Would wheels get you a fine?

You need a special hub that can transmit the current while spinning.
I Remember someone posting about it awhile ago on another forum, if I remember correctly the hub is quite expensive.
 
Since we're on this topic, I've seen some cool angry devil eyes on a few bikes. Is having a red halo on the front lights legal...?

NO. Forward facing lamps must be white or amber only. And there can not be more than 4 forward-facing white lamps on at a time, and that includes your existing high and low beam.

No ... It could be interpreted as an "intermittent flashing" lamp when in motion, and then there are more restrictions. And see below for colours ...

CMVSS allows for the following, and the HTA pretty much follows this:
- Forward facing lamps white or amber only
- Rear facing lamps red (tail), brighter red (brake), amber or red (turn and 4-way flash), indirect white (i.e. only reflecting off the target, source of light itself not visible) lighting of the license plate only
- Running lamps visible from the side must be amber (if towards the front), red (if towards the rear)

Indirect lighting - where you can only see the "glow" after it reflects off of something, and you cannot see the source of the light itself from a normal standing or seated position anywhere around the vehicle - is not covered under CMVSS 108 or HTA, except ...

Flashing lighting of just about any colour, except for turn signals and 4-way flashers, will get you in trouble.

Simple solution: Follow CMVSS 108, and don't do anything else.

If you do something like this put it on a switch to turn it off while riding.
 
I have blue leds that provide a "glow" underneath my bike that previous owner installed.. What Brian P posted is 100% correct. My setup is completely legal but it's not worth the hassle or attention you will bring. Use it at L&L or timmies to pose loooool
