To the idiot who wouldn't move out of the way of my ambulance....

Me: Paramedic driving lights and sirens down the DVP Saturday in an ambulance with a sick child in the back as well as their parent and a team from the hospital...

You: Riding a sport bike and failing to yield, then proceeding to intentionally speed up and slow down repeatedly breaking a short distance in front of my ambulance...

I work for the city. I ride. I try to give other motorcycle riders extra care when I'm driving lights and sirens. The rider in question placed a lot of (unfounded) faith in my city maintained vehicle and breaks to not hit him if he wiped out in front of me and endangered myself, my partner and my patient. Please, for the sake of everybody, if you see an ambulance coming either a) do the right thing and move over or b) use your bike and accelerate far enough down the road that your not impeding me getting a patient to the hospital. Sorry, needed to vent. Thanks in advance to the majority of riders who do so safely.

Cheers.

Sorry to hear. I'm surprised your vehicles aren't equipped with a camera, would've been nice to be able to forward that info to police.

Yup.... I suspect they would throw the book and the library shelf at the rider....what a flat out idiot.

oh - welcome to the forum...were it under better circumstances.

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear you work in the land of entitled ********. Some people should be shot.

I hate people that don't pull over for emergency vehicles! They could be on their way to your mom's house! wtf!

Shame the rider in public - post up their plate #.

Holllaaaaa:confused:

The story if true is upsetting. Probably what your partner should do should it ever happen again is to immediately get dispatch to notify the police that there is someone interfering with EMT in an emergency situation.

This is just like the scum in England who throw rocks at firefighters answering calls.

lol it took u long enough to post on here. Hell with how U drive i am surprised U did not run him over.

Some people are just stupid they don't know what to do. Maybe he wasn't intentionally trying to block you

Sorry to hear that =(

I can confidently say everyone I ride with moves over or completely stops if we see/hear sirens heading our way.
