one of my bulbs burnt out.

Does anyone know what size the ninja 250 takes? I'm looking online and I'm finding H7 and H4. I bought a couple of H4's last night for $40, don't want to open the package incase it's actually the wrong size. Don't know where my manual is either..

I can't find what type it is in the service manual other than:

- Highbeam 12 V 55 W + 55 W (quartz halogen)
- Lowbeam 12 V 55 W (quartz halogen)

But I've read on this site that some people do mention the newer gen 2008 + bikes use H7. I can't confirm this for you.

Why don't you just take the old bulb out and confirm?

that would require to me move my *** from this seat. :p

I'm leaning towards H7 i think, but going to go pull the old one out and check a little later i guess.

Thanks!

08+ use H7 bulbs with adapters.

The bulbs are listed as 55w H7 on the parts fiche on cheap cycle parts.

Return them and purchase this, $7 more than the pair of bulbs you bought, but gives you way more light and the bulbs last WAY longer! Put in the payment notes H7 4300k and you're good to go. Uses all the factory connectors, plug and play :)

If you want a hand with the install let me know, no charge.

does this listing come with 2 bulbs or 1 ? And is the installation really just removing the old one and pluging in the new ones and thats it? I ride out in the boonies a night alot on my 250 and this would definitly help

That listing comes with two bulbs and two ballasts. If your bike only has a single light, you'll have a spare bulb and ballast for when one burns out :)

They are super duper plug and play, you don't have to cut any wires, nothing. It uses the stock connectors, everything. If you need any help with them just lemme kno. Remember to put in H7 4300K in the payment comments! Super fast shipping from them :)

I have an 08 Ninja 250r too, and these look pretty good. If you end up buying them, PM me when you get them, split the total cost in half and I'll take the extra ballast/bulb off your hands.

ZZR 250 comes with H4 bulb?

Just watch with those hids, if you want to use the factory wiring make sure it's a 35w kit. A 55w kit like I have on mine will more than likely draw more than the 10A fuse can handle. If you want a 55w kit, you can buy relay harnesses to wire direct to the battery.

So I bought from that listing and I was wondering if I do blow a fuse, it shouldn't be too hard to replace right....?
I've read that others have 55 on the same bike and they run just fine but I'd like to be sure

Fuses are super easy to replace. It shouldn't blow a fuse, it only has high power draw during the ignition, for a split second :)

If your headlight turn on right when you turn your key on, try this trick to make your HID kit last a lot longer:

1. Put key in bike.
2. Hold starter button down half way.
3. Turn key to on.
4. Hold starter button the rest of the way in until the bike is started BUT only let the starter button out half way.
5. Wait a few second then release starter button fully = HID turn on.

Jamie, there's a lot of reports of dual 55w kits blowing the 10A fuses in the stock wiring harnesses in the 250s on ninjette.org. it's not a problem until you forget and leave the highs on and it fires both at the same time.

Save yourself the headache, if you are going with 2 55w ballasts (one for hi, one for lo) and run a relay harness. most relay harnesses are set up for cars, so they have to be modified to add a second relay for the high beam on our bikes, but it's not hard. 2 35w ballasts might be ok, but i'd rather play it safe and not have to worry about carrying spare fuses or overloading the stock wiring.

Ahhh yes, if you left the high beams on and both igniters fired that'd for sure blow the fuse :)

if you go lo beam only, you'd probably be ok. i did both since I do a lot of back country roads at night and it's nice to be able to see eyes in the bush 3 or 4 miles ahead :D

in that case i might just do the high beam for when i really need it. It shouldn't blow out the fused if i replace the high beam only and turn on both at the same time right? Adding a relay harness sounds like more work than it's worth.
