Purchasing a bike from Quebec (Track bike)

I was looking to buy a bike from Quebec (sold already though so I couldn't buy it). When I was looking at info on bringing a non Ontario vehicle into Ontario I came across a ton of useless info and couldn't find what I was looking for. I have never purchased a used vehicle so have never had to go through the process here or any other province obviously.

Does anyone have any info or links that could help me out. I am looking to purchase a bike and use it for track only, the bike might be track only in Quebec or might be street rideable there. The previous one I was looking at said they did not have the SAAQ green paper and would be sold with contract only. As I wont be riding it on the street do I need to get the MTO involved at all? Also I would like to be able to take it across the border to the states. Do I need any special registration in Ontario for a Quebec bike, pay taxes in Quebec and here for a private sale or no taxes for private sales...?

Any help and info would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Personally, I'd at least want the bike to have an ownership papers, be it rebuilt or clean - it's up to you, but at least make sure it's not stolen.

I got my track bike from Kingston with a Quebec ownership. Since the ownership did not match the sellers name (he said he bought from a Quebec owner) I got all his info on the bill of sale(Name, address, DL number).

I did not pay taxes because I didn't register it under my name.

The rumour is that a lot of the QC bikes are stolen. I've never tried to buy one so I can't confirm, but I would be damn careful about what I was buying. Personally I would look in the US over QC.

If a bike didn't have an ownership, I would be leary transporting it across the border as you don't have good evidence that it's not stolen and I prefer to keep my border crossings hassle-free.

I bought my track bike from Montreal. Just a bill of sale as the bike frame has no vin number (No its not ground off, it was built and started its life as a race bike from suzuki with most of the kit yosh race parts). It was a great deal and from what ive heard to go to the states isnt an issue even with just a bill of sale as long as you fill out the proper forms before hitting the border.
