So i recently bought a PUIG smoke windshield for my Ninja 250. I tried to install it today but it doesn't seem to fit?

The PUIG seems to CURVE more and not as flat as the OEM. The top holes dont align with the top holes on the fairing. Am i supposed to stretch it or something?

P.S I double checked the package and the sticker says For Ninja 250R..

Thanks

Mine also seemed not to fit on my GSXR, you have to force it in there a bit, carefully apply some force until it goes in place.

Stretching the shield + the fairing would make it very brittle wouldn't it?

There is a little bit of space to move the fairing and the windscreen - the rubber inserts help a bit. I had Puig on my old GS500F and had similar problem, had to slightly force the windscreen to align the holes.

Not really, use common sense when applying pressure, if you feel for some reason is going to snap then stop, those screens require some forcing into place.

Okay, thanks guys. I'll give it another try tomorrow. Just didn't want to risk cracking the fairing or the windshield.

Ya it's common.

I'm not sure i remember this all correctly.. but cheaper screens are made of acrylic plastic so they are not very flexible, they are brittle and easy to crack. Better windscreens like Puig and MRA are made from polycarbonate so they're a lot more tolerant of bending.

Well i forced that bugger in and it fit. It was a pretty tough job for one person though.

Good job, don't let the guys tell you that you can't do something.

Yeah - way to go chicklet. I have brakes and a chain to do this weekend. So good when you can wrench for yourself.

The first time you always have to force it in a little, no matter "where" you are putting it...wink wink
