im looking at a 2011 GSXR600 with about 3000km on her.
1 owner, bought last year in the clearance sale by the sound of it. this years clearance price is $9800+taxes at the dealer.
comes with a clean bill of health, needs this seasons oil change still, and a flawless vin check showing it was paid for in cash (my checks dig a little deeper than just carfax)

whats a fair offer? im not really worried about certification with such low km.

ya thats what i thought. im tapped out at $8000, already $1000 over budget...not that i dont have the $ its just not what i wanted to spend, i was looking for a 2008-2010 and hoping for $7000 (like that style better) but all the ones listed seems to have been dumped and have aftermarket plastics.
and even sketchier, some wont even let me do a vin check...

i didnt know your boot could cause that much damage on the side of the engine just from riding...apparently none of them have been down according to the sellers...

i think im willing to spend the 8k and be over budget for piece of mind...

id offer the guy 8k. if he doesn't take it inch up to 8100, 8200 max.

In 2011 I bought a 2010 gsxr 750 with 3k for 8500, 8k is more than a fair price, I wouldn't pay more than 7800. remember that you still have to pay just under 1k in taxes

Last year helped someone buy a 2008 (i think) Gsxr 600 for $6300 with 9k.

To me the right price is between 7500 and 7800

Unless you write $1 on the invoice ;)

You will get a nice letter on the mail from the government and so will the seller asking for the price, then hope and pray that he doesn't get scared and tells the government the same amount, or says screw it, I don't have to pay for the tax, so why would i risk it for someone else.

Good luck with that

C'mon at least be reasonable...bump it to $100 cheap ***** :D

For a 2 year old bike with 3k 8k is reasonable without it being insulting. Maybe 8.5 max but I wouldn't pay that...might as well get last years model.

Unfortunately the seller is a dealer so I don't think that will work
its a private sale.

if i lost my plate portion off my old plates will they still transfer them? i still have a full year of a sticker on them..

So you obviously made up your mind about buying that bike and were just trying to get affirmation on the price

im 90% sure i want this bike, its just pending the price, hes asking too much for it so its going to come down to me making a fair offer, as much as ide like to low ball him this is the cleanest bike ive found that isnt new, i know the season is early...but still.
and i dont want to overpay for it.

Remember, you'll likely want to be dumping money into mods too. So why ceiling out at the cost of the bike alone?

Yes they will, happened to me.

Tax on private sale of used bikes is BS, everyone feels that way. A bike changes hands enough and the amount of taxes paid exceed the actual value of the bike. The ministry rarely if ever sends those letters out.

thats accounted for... fender eliminator kit is first, and ive already got the license plate bolt LED's
im also putting red LEDs under the tail section to make it more visible at night. already got those.
then im buyin some new plastics at some point, thinking of having them wrapped in white/grey digital camo..probably at summer end.
so yes, thats all worked into my budget.

my friends seller received the letter, so it does exist.

Well that bike was a POS.
He dumped it, it looks like it tumbled. He didn't even replace the plastice, looks like he has someone he knew patch them up from behind and re-spray them. Paint is all fish eyes, you can see creases where the cracks were.
Its located in hamilton, and listed as something like 2500km.

If anyone hears of a similar bike that hasn't been mangled let me know...I've got cash, ill be runing the vin and need a test ride, you can hold the $ while its being tested...I think that's fair.
If not ill be buying new in a couple weeks... I don't want someone elses wreck.

price check on a 2007 with 5000km... 1 owner

appreciate the help..
im thinkin of goin high 6's?
im not looking to rip anyone off, just want whats fair...hard to say that about someone looking to put out money, but ide rather quality and fairness.

edit.. hes firm on 7500
