Overnight Parking Permit

Hey - does anyone have a link that allows you to order online a overnight street parking permit for a motorcycle.
I just picked up my new bike and it's a wee bit heavier then my last. I use to ride up into my yard and park it on my lawn (I know Not allowed too) but my new bike is way to heavy to do the three point turn I need to do to park on my lawn and get back out. I searched the city site and I seem to just go in circles.

Yeah - I saw the info in that link. I kept looking and it looks like I have to go to the office to get one, can't buy online. You can buy a temp car permit online but not a longterm motorcycle permit online. Thanx for trying to help.

i dont have any parking info. just wanna say congrats on the new harley! how was the transition from rebel to harley? rebel got boring too quick?! :)

Im in the same situation, I believe you have to go to city hall and apply for a parking permit. I heard its free but i'm not 100% sure. can any one verify that parks on the street??

Thanx - I was worried about going from my honda to a Harley but I have to say it's not bad! I'm not changing gears three times through an intersection to keep up with traffic. I find it really smooth once I hit 60. But Wow it feels great. I need to work on my low speed corners but that will come with more saddle time. Oyeah thats the other thing - need a better seat. Need a bit more cushion. I'm glad I did the upgrade and would recommend it!

Try email/phoning them. Maybe there's an easier process. Post the results for posterity.

Ok - heres the goods for future reference. You have to go into the office Or request by snail mail. I tried East York civic center and they no longer give parking permits, need to go to city hall. But I lucked out, was in and out in 10 min.
Once you have the permit you can renew it online. They laminate it and give you a zip tie. You don't have to pay for the permit, it's free.

Cheers

Help me out here: you have to zip-tie a laminated card to your bike? So when you park someplace everyone will know where you park at night? At least no one can just cut off a zip-tie.

Yup! I know it's silly. Looks ugly too, you could always buy a bag of zips and cut it off everytime you go out and re-apply...... lol

On the topic of permit display:

I zip-tie the card to my left handlebar. This is what they suggested when I got the permit. Problem is, it rains a lot - I tarp the bike. Apparently some covers come with a little window so you can see the permit, but not mine. Anybody know how enforcement deals with this? I figure they'd need to lift the tarp in order to affix a ticket, and would then see the permit, but I don't know...

Go into any upholstery/fabric/leather store, ask them to put one on whatever cover you've got.
$10-20 and you've got exactly what you need.
