New rider, oil change question

Hello, I'm a new rider and I have a 2003 Honda magna 750. I'm about to change the oil myself but I'm wondering if I made the right choice of oil and oil filter. Oil is 20W-50 4 stroke. Oil filter is PH6017A. Is the the right choice or should I get another type?

Just like GG said, what does your owners manual say? If you go by the manual you generally won't have a problem.

As long as the oil carries a JASO MA rating and is not "energy conserving" you'll be fine oil-wise.

The filter P/N looks right though Fram wouldn't be my first choice.

Make sure if your oil sump plug has a replaceable gasket that you have one on hand.

20 w 50 is fine for now. Your bike has 4 cylinders and a carb -- the only downside to heavy oil is harder cold starting when it below 5C.

Fram filters are fine, they did have a quality issue for a very short time 20 years ago, they make excellent quality filters that exceed OE spec filters for virtually every car truck and motorcycle today.
