Motorcycle Security / GPS

Can someone recommend a good security system that uses gps for a SS motorcycle? Specifically Kawasaki zx6?

I was thinking there must be some way to hardwire an iphone to the bike. paired with a decent app, it would be able to provide 2 way communication, gps location, shock sensor.

I saw this at an auto show:

Problem with this is that there is a monthly service charge that adds up quickly over time. I'd ask myself is it worth it to spend $xxx to protect $xxxx? You're already paying insurance, might as well put it to good use.

My recommendation: be smart where you park, use a disc lock and the built-in steering lock and cover your bike. Let insurance cover the rest.

+1 Lightcycle, I understand if perhaps the bike has some inate special value and can not be replaced (very custom and undervalued in insurance or perhaps some collectable bike, but if it is just a run of the mill current/recent model bike, get regular insurance and make the claim if needed.

It's called insurance. Never let one day go by that it's not insured. Put the bike completely out of your mind, it ruins the fun if you worry about it all the time.

I've tried to develop a live tracking system but the tiny little battery in our bikes does not do a good job at keeping it running if you don't drive the bike at least once a week. Drain your battery a few times like that and you'll be out $100 for a new battery.

If you want to leave a phone installed in the bike then buy some crap android phone with a REAL gps chip, install Cerberus app as rom/hidden (one time fee, like $6 or something), done. Instant, unlimited, live tracking, texts you a photo any time someone touches the phone, etc. To power it in the trunk I'd use one of these: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/12V-...l-USB-Charger-Blue-LED-Light/32237785097.html

For a sim card for the phone I'd recommend this deal ($100 unlimited text for 1 year): http://www.rogers.com/web/content/w...sc_icid=prepaid_savings-on-oneyearplan_slot-2
