Life-threatening injuries sustained by passenger in Hwy. 403 collsion
Hundreds of vehicles had to be diverted from Highway 403 eastbound Thursday for a serious motorcycle collision east of Oak Park Road.
Brant OPP officers responded the scene of the single-vehicle collision at 11:35 a.m. to investigate along with firefighters and paramedics. The driver of a Harley Davidson motorcycle sustained minor injuries, while the passenger has life-threatening injuries. Both have been transported to a local hospital.
Highway 403 east from Oak Park Road to Paris Road remained closed for the investigation. Dozens of trucks and other vehicles had to pull off the highway at Oak Park Road, drive around to Hardy Road and rejoin the highway at Paris Road, creating substantial traffic congestion for hours.

Michigan woman killed in motorcycle crash

A 50-year-old Michigan woman, who was a passenger on a motorcycle driven by her 53-year-old husband, was killed on Thursday in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 403.
Brant OPP Const. Ken Johnston said the couple were travelling eastbound near the Oak Park Road interchange when a mechanical problem forced to the driver to lose control at about 11.30 a.m.
The victim is identified as Michelle Huggins of Sterling Heights.
Her husband suffered minor injuries.
Eastbound lanes between Oak Park and Paris roads were closed until 3.45 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

CTV News story indicated they were riding at or below the speed limit and that the bike suffered some sort of unspecified mechanical failure. Such a shame.
