I got the Stanley 281 piece set from CT it was 95 bucks I could not believe it. I already had a loose set but it saves time not having to look through a bunch or random bits to find what I’m looking for. I also got a Great neck (no name) brand set. Don’t know how many pieces but I got that from liquidation word plus a wrench set for 15 bucks. Sure 1 of the wrenches already snapped on me but you get what you pay for and it got me through the complete disassembly of my GSX400 project bike.

Next im looking for another tool chest. Got the smallest Jobmate one as a gift and would like to get somthing bigger

I purchased a similar set from CT and also from Sears (Craftsman) 4 or 5 years ago to compare them side by side. Maxximum seemed to be better quality, came in plastic trays sorted by ratchet size and had a lower cost. I then boxed up the Craftsman set and returned it for refund.

craftsman (sears) makes a fuss when you break wrenches for warranty.

at least 8 years ago they did so i avoid them now.

^^ this, and they don't replace it with stock off the shelf, instead they ship it to you. Bring a broken Mastercraft tool to Canadian Tire and if they have it in stock they replace it on the spot, no fuss.

Impact sockets as well......I might just have to!!

I thought that's was those were, but wasn't sure ... for $175, that's actually not bad. There's been a few versions of this set over the years, looks like this one is pretty lean on wrenches but there's that extra tray of black sockets (possibly impact).

Hmmmm you know what....upon a closer look I'm not sure that they are impact sockets. They may just be double hex sockets. Still a great deal but I need a new impact set which would have made this a deal that I couldn't pass up.

I would be surprised if those were actual impact sockets.

I have the previous generation of this set, and it came with another tray that has a variety of pliers (slip joint, needle nose, square nose, side cutters and tin shears).
You can get a mastercraft tool box with the right size drawers, trim down the trays a little bit and they drop right in. Perfect for keeping the tools organized and a quick check at the end of a job makes it easy to see if you've lost a tool in some cranny on the bike. (nvm, I see in the add it mentions they drop in)

For pretty much everyone but pro mechanics these will do just fine!
I've added the odd accessory like specialized wrenches and bike/sled/truck specific tools, but this will get you through almost any job.

thanks OP! when does it start?

Don't know if it's still on sale but HD had a Stanley rolling tool chest on sale for ~$60 recently. It's a cheapo entry level chest but not bad for the money. I bought a very similar model from Walmart last year that came with a socket set for $85 and I'm happy with it. Perfect for the average DIY'er garage.

I just bought this earlier today because I don't have a good set of tools yet.

The black sockets are unfortunately only double hex sockets.
