LED signal/brake lights

Hi all:
The only 2 motorcycle-car encounters I've had have been while I was stopped, and I got hit from behind.
Thus, I'm looking for thoughts on LED drop-in bulbs for brake/tail lights and signal lights.
Anyone using any of these? Specifically the pulsing brake light bulbs (the self-enclosed kind - not looking for additional wiring harnes, etc).
Thoughts?

Some websites talk about needing additional load-balancers after putting in such low power bulbs.
I don't want to futz with that, either.

Riding a 2005 Yamaha Vstar 1100 Classic... and I just don't want to be hit anymore. :)

Unless you are getting really bright LEDs, I won't put them in. They generally emit less light than the halogen and that might cause you to be hit from the back again. LEDs are also harder to see in direct sunlight unless they are well-made. Use your discretion.

You could get a trunk that has brake lights mounted in it, that might help.
