leaning on a 140 rear vs 190

so on my 250 i had about 1.5mm chicken strip on the right side, almost gone but i dont think i actually leaned that much. now on my r1 i think i leaned just as much, maybe a little less, but the strip on the same side is huge.

so... does it mean on the 190 rear the tire has a higher max. lean angle than the 140 rear? thanks.

The 190 on your R1 indeed is capable of a higher lean angle than the 140 on your 250. Not necessarily because of the extra width (though extra rubber = extra grip = potentially higher lean angle) but more because of its profile.

I highly doubt the 250 has a high quality sport tire on it like the R1 does? What tire was on the ninja?

If it's a 140, he's likely talking about the BT-003 tires, which are meant for track/racing.

The R1 is a tuned race bike and has a much higher cornering clearance than the 250. That means your footpegs and exhaust won't get in the way. You're less likely to drag hard parts and thus, you can lean more. Although the 250 can lean pretty freaking far. I'm kind of doubting that you're leaning the R1 that far.
