2019 MotoGP bike( along with his leathers and some other random bits and pieces up for sale)

I was honestly, blown away at the sticker price... This is an EXCELLENT buy! The development costs alone would be in the millions...

Compared to Honda's ( Failed) MotoGP look alike costing upwards of 100K ( Euros), this is a great buy!

Edit: Imagine if some one from CSBK buys this one and shows up for the nationals! :p :p :p

 where else would one show up with a horrendously non-street legal track bike, it's gotta be there or a private airport doesn't it?
& the random bits and pieces, better be some of the replacement parts you can't buy over the counter.

5 x the horsepower+ 70 lb less weight than my 500x .... it indeed needs some electronics to tame the monster...
The final gasps of the ICE engines ? ?

Interesting buy for some rich hardcore KTM enthusiast, but what are you going to do with it other than stick it in a museum somewhere? (which is probably what will happen)

It's basically a investment vehicle/sports bet - if Pol manages good things at HRC, the bike should appreciate by a good amount.

If I was worth $100M I'd Buy It Now sight unseen and send one of my aides to retrieve it.

This is an investment... It'll cost a million euros one day. I understand this is no championship winning bike and mind you the software will be locked by KTM, probably rendering this bike unstartable or runnable, but Casey Stoner's winning Ducati machine is in the hands of a privateer and he was offered a whole lotta $$ for that bike.See the video below... NSFW.. an absolute bike Porno!!

Would be awesome in the hands of someone like Jordan Szoke or Ben Young, but... someone correct me if I'm wrong, CSBK cap PRO/AM Superbike horsepower at 200.

That's so very right. Since joining the factory-supported KTM team in 2017 Pol Espargaro has only seen 1 MotoGP podium. In 2017 he suffered a whopping 5 retirements (and also 5 retirements + 2 DNS in 2018!) aboard the KTM RC16.

Beautiful piece of engineering nevertheless.

Backing off the power a bit may help it hold together a while longer. It would suck to blow it up and high-strung race toys aren't known for their easy maintenance schedule.

CSBK rules require starting from homologated production-based machinery for their Superbike (which is really closer to "Supersport") class. Perhaps some regional sanctioning body has an "open" class where it could be raced, but it's certainly not at a national level, and it's overkill for a regional "open" class. Maybe it could be an occasional track-day toy for someone with bundles of money, but I sure wouldn't want to be out with the riff-raff on a bike like this in a normal track day. And then after a few hours of use, you have to strip down the engine and replace a whole bunch of internal parts with new replacement parts that you can't get.

It's basically only good as a museum-piece ... except that if Pol Espargaro goes on to greatness, it won't be this bike that does it!

Last year's race bikes frequently become next to worthless due to rule changes or plain old obsolescence. This year's factory Moto3 bikes become next year's regional-level PreMoto3 bikes and so forth, but there is no such avenue for the premier class. Sometimes, well-esteemed riders get to keep a few of them. Valentino Rossi has a collection. The Hayden family has at least one of his old MotoGP bikes. The factory sometimes keeps an example or two around. The Ducati plant has a collection that you can view in their museum, and I'm sure they have more that are not on display. The Barber museum has a few.

So no HP restriction... meaning I can show up in one of these...?

It will hit a collection or show up at Goodwood or some other millionaires motor fest. people that buy this stuff, and remarkably there are quite a few, will know who to call when its not running or needs parts. There is an entire industry built around keeping old GrandPrix cars running and supplying unobtainable parts.
If some body made the first part, somebody can reproduce it, its just a question of how much money.
