Joe rocket jacket - elbow protectors

So I just bought a Joe rocket jacket a week ago I believe it is a "ballistic 12.0" or something, but I'm curious, the elbow protectors don't line up with my elbows, they are almost on my forearms... How do I go about moving them? Am I going to have to remove the stitching and restitch the inside to the proper position? I'm not a small dude and don't know why they are so low.
 
Mine are somewhat similar; they cover the elbow at the curved end and then mostly protect the forearm. Mine's a King Cruiser, so it may be different, but I think it's so that in a slide it really protects where it should (chances are, it'll slide up, not down).
 
I would assume a tailor could move them for you (I guess depending on how they're integrated into the jacket?), but if the jacket is only a week old I would probably just return it and find something that fits better.

The jacket wasn't made for you. Not a whole lot you can do, try to get someone to re-position the padding or get a custom made jacket from the beginning
 
Pretty much agree with what others said... Jackets cant be made to make everyone happy as everyone has different arm lengths and shoulder width.

If possible, return the jacket, try on some others, and get the one that fits you best.
 
Have you tried with your arms stretched to riding position...I know I find knees like that till Im on the bike.

Yes I have, and the elbow protectors pretty much start at the tip of my bent elbow and go down my forearm.
 
Check the lining inside the sleeve, JR may have an extra velcro pocket inside for position adjustment.

You would think this is correct but you typically don't crash in the riding position. To the OP like others have said looks like you purchased the wrong jacket. Motorcycle jackets do not fit like a normal jacket. They should be tight enough to keep the padding in the proper spot during a crash but not so tight they cut the circulation off. A loose fitting jacket will do jack **** for you in the case of a crash since the padding will just shift around.

I agree. When I was looking for my first jacket I wasn't sure about the fit. My gf convinced me to get a tight leather jacket. After wearing it a few times it stretched a bit and now it's perfect. I wouldn't want it any other way. There is no way the armour will move if I go down (barring something catastrophic).
 
Well dumb me,

I was supposed to get an XL, now after researching and looking at the tag on my jacket its an XLT (tall) adding two inches to the sleeves ... guess I gotta go back to GP Bikes. First jacket I got was an XL but had broken domes on the arms and they gave me an XLT which didn't seem to fit right. Back out to Whitby I guess
