Is it possible to sell a bike when you're out of the country?

So my friend went to korea and he's gotta stay there for a couple years (fam emergency) but he bought a ninja right before he left. Now he want's to transfer the ownership to my other friend so the other friend can ride it. Is it possible to get the UVIP if you're not the owner? And fax things back and forth for signatures? Or does he have to come back to Canada to do it himself .. which he can't.

Any input would be highly appreciated!

Yes for the UVIP even if you're not the bike owner you can get one as long as you have the VIN number, I did it once for a bike last year.

Sure, anyone can get the UVIP. Just walk into service ontario with the VIN and $20. Since he's your friend just agree on whatever price/terms and then forge his signature. Done.

Couple years... must be a big emergency.

No need to forge the signature, just courier the ownership papers. Yes, it will cost some money, but at least it will all be valid and legal.
