I made a thread in the Cruiser forum as I was thinking about a cruiser as my next bike, but as I tried some out, I found that it really wasn't for me. Especially since I do a ton of city riding and prefer something that's quick a nibble to avoid the crazy cabbies (among other cagers) in downtown.
Long story short, my new bike purchase will be the Triumph 2012 Street Triple R, but the cost is quite high in Ontario. All the Ontario Triumph dealers are charging around $800-$900 in "Dealer Fees". I found a place in Montreal that doesn't charge that and knocked off a few hundred. But the MSRP in the US is just insanely lower, so getting it for $2,000 cheaper can be done quite easily.
Montreal --> $1,200 cheaper
US --> $2,000 cheaper (after all import fees&taxes)
I read through some of the "importing from US" thread and got a pretty good idea of the costs and what's involved. The only thing I worry about is the warranty. That's why if the warranty is void, then I would rather buy in Montreal.
So this leads to my question... what do I need to be aware of when buying a new bike in Quebec, but plating it in Ontario? Any costs involved?
