Last year I rode only SIX times. I won't be able to ride till spring.
Anyone else been in my shoes where they didn't ride much for so long and all of sudden started riding again?

Nope I ride always, ALWAYS RIDE! Don't worry jump on your ride and give it a go don't worry about it.

I had a year or two where I took on too much at once. I had a bike that needed a lot of work, but not really much time to do it - barely rode at all as a result. Trying to avoid this in the future.

I had some health issues that prevented me from being able to sit down, let alone ride a motorcycle. Didn't ride for an entire 2 years. Life Happens. You get back on and away you go.
If you want to keep riding, you always find a way. Quality rides vs quantity have taken over for me. I don't commute as much as I used to, but I go on day long touring rides more.

I ride quite a bit, but I often go on long vacations during the summer. Riding's cool but it's not the most fun thing out there.

Yes. Have not ridden since 1981 but plan on riding again this year. What do you need to know?

Somebody ban this dude...

I have fallen into the ride to work and back thing during the season...which is like 10 mins each way. But the longer rides have become fleeting as far too much to do on the weekends...freakin women!

If you think riding in flatterio is the best thing in the world you need to expand your horizons.

Yuuuuup... Life is full of other fun things to do... doing them instead of riding isn't such a bad thing... you can always just jump on and ride whenever...

I missed a year of riding due to being over seas.
When I finally got back on the the MX bike, it didn't take me very long to be back up to speed.

^^ this

I don't ride as much as I used to due to a life change (baby). But I still enjoy it immensely when I do get out, and shoot for quality and longer type rides.

There are better roads, race tracks, dirt bikes etc...

I haven't found anything more fun than riding yet on this planet, and im pretty old

That last bit is what got me out of sailplanes which is riding in 3D and back into mcycles after a kid having layoff.

Kid wanted to ride - so dad got him one and me one after being on machine since my teens.
All comes back - even the dirt skills

Took a break on flying as well - 4 years - then one check ride and I was good to go.

That said take it easy beginning of season as skills do rust a bit and roads tend to be post winter grimy.

The best thing is you can go when you want especially if you don't care about wet or dark etc.

Some of my best rides were 3 am in the back roads tho I don't ride in the wet in the dark.
One of t'other is fine.

Battling high winds and stormy conditions is just plain fun at times.
