I started out on a leisurely 200km loop to Westport.
I had filled up before my last trip and only put on 197 km so I was good for another 200 to 300km.
The intention was to fill up in Westport at about 100km.
After less than 30km the low fuel light came on at and at that point the trip odometer starts counting up from zero.
With approximately 5 litres of the 21 litres of fuel left I should have 75 to 100km of range.
After only about 5 km my trip odometer was reading 35 km traveled!!!!
By the time I got back to Bath at the gas station it was showing over 250km after traveling only 30km.
When I filled the tank it only took 15 litres.
I put on another 50 km after resetting the trip odometer & every thing seemed fine.
I checked some forums and found a few instances where the level sensor can cause some false readings.
I found nothing on improper kilometre logging.
Riding Italian keeps your life interesting.
If I wanted boring I would buy a BMW or Goldwing.
Maybe I will try again tomorrow.
