How to stay logged on for long time

I've looked but could not find a setting to allow me to keep from being logged off each time I leave this site. On other forums there is a keep me logged on option.

there's a 'remember me' option just below where you type your username/pwd.

Also, if you use private browsing or delete your cookies, you're automatically logged out. (FYI)
