Highway pegs

I bought some that clamp onto the 1" engine guard.
How are people securing them on their bikes?
The problem is that they rotate when I put any weight on them.
There might be the same rotating issue with the bolt that holds the extension onto the clamp.
I don't want to overtighten them and strip the threads.
It might be as simple as bracing it against something attached to the engine guard somehow, or as difficult as taking it to Willy the welder.

Which part is giving you the problem? The clamp on the H&B bar or the crank to bottom bracket (bicycle equivalent, obviously no crank or bottom bracket here)?

Clamp around H&B bars seems slightly oversized as tips are coming together. I would shim the bar somehow (rubber, popcan shims, wire, etc.)

For crankarm to bottom bracket, I would get the angle right and then drill and pin to stop rotation at that point. Drill and pin can work for H&B bars too. Make the pin small ((#8 bolt?) and it will be secure while riding but easily snap in a fall.

Which parts rotating? The circle clamp on the engine guard itself? You can put something grippy to interface inside the circle clamp or around the engine guard, like some cloth or rubber or sandpaper or something.

If its rotating around that bolt you can try punching the nut so it locks to the clamp, but thatll make it hard to take off, or you can pin it if you can drill straight through it but that will probably still let it turn. Its not keyed at all? Seems like it should be.

Both are rotating.

I purchased T-Rex highway bars, not cheap, but they can be tightened properly and are very adjustable, which is important.

I have GIVI 25mm OD crashbars. The part that clamps to the bar has a thin rubber liner, it's not metal to metal.

I've been on 2 long trips this season and have adjusted the position of the pegs a few times so that I can get some relief on a long riding day. What seems to be a great position after 2 hours is not the same 6 - 7 hours later.

Wrap the the bar with a piece of 120 grit sandpaper and then put the clamp on.

Yup those look like the pegs I have on my Harley. They suck, and rotate and do all sorts of fun stuff. I think I put locktit on them and cranked the bolts down. Even then they still moved a little and make flipping them down when you need them a pain.

I've wanted to switch them out for something else without that middle piece, which i think is the problem with the setup.

@Baggsy
If they were an Amazon purchase I would just send them back.
"Defective" "Item Description not accurate"

I have these and they work fine.

There is a pin inside that prevents them from spinning. They also come with 3 different collars/spacers to allow mounting to different diameters tubes.
They are a knock off to the Alt-Rider pegs at more than double the cost. I believe they are identical in quality.

Let me know if you want any real life pictures.
