Helmets for people with giant melon heads (like me)?

Ok here is my problem. I have a large head and i want to find a 1/2 helmet that doesn't make my head look like Marvin the Martian.

I went to a store today and tried on a few that they had, i ended up fitting my cro-magnon skull into a Large Jmax 55s, but it is very tight. They come in XL but they didn't have any in stock at that size, but even the L is gigantic on my head, it sticks out at least 2 inches all around. I look like a bobble head now.

Does anyone know of a decent looking 1/2 helmet that comes in larger sizes and fits snuggly without being so bulbish?

I'm not sure how it works for half helmets, but some lids are a single shell with different padding.. meaning the whole size range uses the same external plastic. Might want to look for one like that.

You might find the Bell Classic will fit and not look huge but it's 3/4
I like mine and it's quiet.

The shape of a half helmet is always going make it look big.

The Bell is "ahem" slimming ;) ....in black of course.

L? XL? Giant???? I thought I was going to be able to help but my head is giant, try a Shoei XXXL in a full face. Very slimming, especially since they only come in black.

Here is one. Helmets are supposed to fit snug. Are you sure that you are really that big a size?

Pfft... I've never been able to fit my head in an L. XXL for me... makes trying on helmets REALLY tough as only the huge stores with large inventory have more than one XXL to try on.

I think difference between L to XXL and larger varies greatly between brands. The two helmets i tried at the store today looked almost exactly the same, a Gmax and HCI.,The HCI XL was (way) too small for me, and the GMAX almost fit even though it was only an L, so the L from the one brand was actually larger than the XXL of another. I was just thinking if that's the case maybe there are other brands out there that look less bulby than those for a 60+ inch head.

Bell does make helmets to fit Southern pumpkin-heads, so it's your best bet.

Try Scorpion Exo-100, they make them in two shell size, the first size will fit XS,S,M and the second shell size will fit L,XL,XXL. The do this by changing the liner. They usually wear one size smaller, I'm medium however small fits me perfect. They are hard to find as they are in back order till end of Aug. but I know Kahuna and GP have them in L,XL size.

Is it bad that when I saw this thread, I immediately thought of you? LOL

Back in the day, I was able to squeeze my melon in a 3/4 Bell open face helmet, just like the one in the picture. It was in white. Looked kind of like the Great Gazoo from another post. hahaha

i have a large head and it was tuff finding helmets for myself, but i got the iconn mechanica helmet...yes, it does look big, but its really comfortable.

i've got a similar problem. it appears that the top of my head is taller (?) than normal, the part from eyebrows to top of my head. i tried a few different brands and styles and a lot of them were sitting high up, including shoei and arai helmets. though there was one arai (i can't remeber the name) which fitted my oval shaped head very nicely. i found hjc helmets had the most models which can accomodate my crown just right. other brands i tried were icon, vega, z1ox (?), daytona, eddie (something), bell. helmet size xxl.
