Set the wayback machine...I recall filling my new `73 CB350 four at about 35 cents/gallon, around 11 cents/L. Under 2 bucks a tank, of course my p/t job was about $1.65/hour.

Started motorcycle riding in 1958 on a 199cc 1957 Ariel "Colt". Gasoline was 40 cents per Imperial gallon ( 9 cents/litre) and the Colt
would get 100 miles on an Imperial gallon of regular grade.
(M/C basic insurance was $32 per year.) (I got 75 cents/hour as a part-time grocery store clerk.)
