Friday Sept 5 Come one Come all

It was a lot of passes. I was walking gympy for a few days after - that ride is not friends with my old hips.
Those three runs were close the others were all over the map.

I see possible improvement in both. Finding what's a good tire pressure and then checking it would likely help.
Also I need to do runs using only 3 gears and then 4 to see whether 4th gear is a help or hindrance. Not 100% certain but I believe my prior 12.6 run only made it to third gear.

Try 26-28 psi, or lower, if you're spinning the rear wheel. And stay clear of the burnout box! lol.

Why?

I always hit the box and light it up. Mostly because it's fun and I don't know any better.
Tomorrow is the last Test & Tune at St Thomas this year so I've invited some friends and family to come out and watch. The weather looks decent. Effed up last Friday night and took the Wing down only to find I needed to preregister due it being the Turkey Nats.

Because it's water.
Water and rubber (unless drag slick) get slippery.
Control 'could' be lost running the track, because of wet tires.
Starters / marshals at Cayuga always direct motorcycles around the puddle (for good reason).
You can do a burnout without the puddle.
If you have a drag slick on the rear (different than your picture).......nevermind.

Good luck, and I'm hoping to see a pic of a 12.? pass.

Yesterday was a Great day. Weather was perfect. After telling friends and family it would cost $20 to watch it turned out all spectators were free.
Got in 8 or 9 runs with a best time of 12.74 @ 107.7MPH

When I first wrapped my KZ650 (the GayZed) in that fabric my daughter liked it so much she, bought more fabric and made pants. Never did a get a pic of the GayZed with her in the pants so made sure to snag one this time.

It seems to pull well into the red. By burying the needle deep in the red zone - about 8,500 RPMs ( redline starts at 8,000 goes to about 8,800 with nothing printed on the tach beyond that ) I was able pass through the trap still in third.
Pretty sure my best times didn't require 4th gear.
I'm thinking about a catch shield and engine diaper over the winter. Who knows how long you can abuse these Wing motors before thing go boing.

If the valves aren't floating, you still have more revs available.

It would be interesting to see a plot from something like draggy (or any other high refresh rate GPS logger). Sometimes you can see places where you should have held longer or switched earlier.

C`mon now....it`s just touring..1/4 mile at a time. How`s the clutch and final drive hold up?

LOL. Yes I'm sure lots of Wings "tour" deep in the red zone. So far everything seems fine.

I replaced the big steel gas tank with a small one out of a lawn mower. First time out I was filling after every third pass. This time running it harder I ran out after 3 passes and just managed to coast back to the pits.
