Forcefield Pro Shirt vs Dedicated Back Protector

As topic states.

I'm currently picking up track gear for next year. I'm debating between buying:

Force Field Pro Shirt
Force Field Pro Pants

vs.

Dedicated back protector (I believe Forcefield makes a few of these too)
Some kind of underarmor so the race suit doesn't get stuck

The price ends up being around the same but the pro option allows me to remove the inserts when on track days and insert them for street days (my current pants and jacket padding is horrible, would likely move out of place if I crash on the street). Is the Pro Shirt's back protector sufficient? This isn't a matter of $$$ but efficiency.

Unless you are extremely skinny and/or buy a very large suit, you will be very pressed to fit that inside your race suit specially in the arms and shoulders.

I would go with the VnM stuff under the suit and a good quality back protector and chest piece.

The proshirt would be a really good option for street riding with a regular street jacket but in my opinion not for the track

I would be taking out all the inserts except the back protector in track day events, making it more like an undersuit (very thin) with a built in back protector. I'm just wondering if that is enough protection or just a stupid idea.

Well, considering I have sold more Forcefield in Canada then anybody else to date the shirt and pants are a really nice product.
The armour is the best. Forcefield wins the independant tests done by Cambridge University in England every year. It's not
rigid and hard but what is known as "soft" armour. With the shirt your armour is allways in the right spot.
I would suggest taking any armour in your suit out and just wearing this. The back protector is enough and basically that design
was only ever beat in the Cambridge test by the Forcefield Sub 4. That would be the L1 which is in that shirt. Just slightly tailored for jackets.
There are not many suits that will have armour close to this stuff. So taking it out for a track day is not something I'd recommend.
The shirt and pants also have other uses that you can cross over with, like dirt biking and snow boarding. So it will be very versitile.

It may also depend on who you are doing trackdays with and where. From the Pro6 website "CE Level II or higher “hard shell” back protectors are mandatory." And I can tell you I have never been to Calabogie with Pro6 where this was not checked in the hot pit prior to the first session.

If you showed up with a forcefield CE level 2 back protector I HIGHlY doubt any track day organizer would turn you away, especially being one of the highest rated back protectors on the market.
