Expired M2, rewrite the M1 for instant upgrade?

The MTO website says I'll be upgraded to the M2 right away, but my license expired in 2012 I believe.

Is there a time limit on that?

I was off to university at the time and never ended up writing the test.

I think they had an M2 but didn't do the exit test to get an M and it expired in 2012. They wonder if writing the M1 test now instantly gives them an M2.
Yes, I had the M2 since I was 16, but it expired at 21.

Might be best to check with the Ministry.

I believe you have to jump through the hoops again. Insurers will want to see a safety course completed anyways. But because of your previous crack at it you’ll get to avoid all the waiting periods. So you could do the following if you had the time and lined up the bookings.

M1 - Friday
M2 - Sat/Sun
M - Monday

Experience only counts if it expired within the last 3 years. Same situation as you. Got M1/M2 in 2007, expired in 2012. Just Got M1 again, and need to wait full 60 days to get M2, then the 20 months for the M.

Interesting!
