Hello fellow GTAMers,

On September 10th, I will be embarking on a 7 country European motorcycle tour. I have started a YouTube channel to document our travels and would love to share the experiences with you.

My first attempt at the channel to document the sights and sounds can be found here:
The schedule
September 11 - Travel to Italy
September 12-14 : MotoGP - Misano Italy (the race is in San Marino)
September 15: Ducati Factory and Museum Tour
September 16: Train travel to Munich
September 17: Munich walking tour
September 18-27: Germany-France-Switzerland-Liechtenstein-Austria biking tour
September 28: Oktoberfest in Munich
September 29: Travel home

I will be riding a Ducati Multistrada V4S, my riding buddy will be on a BMW R1300 GS.

The tour info can be found here:

If you're interested, I'd love it if you could subscribe!

Thanks,
Chris

Sorry Chris but listening to you discuss turn signals on a bike you're not riding while being fed arrow straight oncoming road just wasn't able to hold my attention.
Enjoy the trip. Sounds awesome.

No problem Tim.

That was the first video that was posted (but not the first that was filmed) and the main goal was to make sure the cameras and microphones were working. The earlier video had me riding the Harley but there were technical issues that needed to be ironed out which provided valuable feedback but wasn't usable. I guess I should have ridden that bike again.

Thanks for watching though, I appreciate the feedback.

Chris

September 28: Oktoberfest in Munich

Although I have family in Munich, I never made it to Oktoberfest as my Alps tours were always end of May to middle of July. But I have been told to wear some good shoes due to a fair share of broken beer mugs on the pavement. Flip-flops won't cut it.

You might want to bring a GPS where you can track log your daily tours and hit the waypoint button to later match up to pics you took to the waypoint time. It would be interesting to see the routes to see what they took you on and what they missed.

Just looking at the Edelweiss Travel Schedule, you are missing the Dolomites.

Some phone apps actually integrate the GPS and camera and will build you a movie with a 3D-map of your entire ride, spliced with pictures and videos from your phone.

Thanks Lightcycle,

I downloaded the Relive app and tested it yesterday. Pretty awesome. We're adding another phone to the trip specifically for this. Unfortunately, this app needs to be open and the phone awake while riding so I think it will need it's own phone. I need my other phone open continuously for the Insta360 app that records other things (speed, direction, etc).

We will be adding some of the video and photos from Relive into our videos. Thanks for the great suggestion!

Hm, will both apps co-exist peacefully running at the same time? Or do both apps need to be active and on-screen, and not running in the background?

From what I've read, both need to be active and on-screen. I'm hoping that's not the case, but I'm prepared if it is.

I have 2 Quad-lock mounts for 2 separate phones so I'm going to run them both on the bars - it looks like there is lots of room. In addition, I'm going to be running the Insta360 on the bars and a GoPro on my helmet.

That should be plenty of video for my editor. I sent her my test from the Relive app and she thinks it's going to be a great addition to the footage. Thangs again!

Is this what your dash looks like?

I just got back from Bologna. The factory tour was really cool, but prepare for disappointment in the museum - much smaller than I was expecting, and I thought I'd be seeing the room with Massimo Tamburini's personal 916 on display in all its glory, but instead there was a room made to look like the pictures but only contained a standard 916 (and not a particularly nice one either). The old race bikes on display were cool to see up close, never been that close to one before and now have some "new" ideas for my 998.
