crossbar RISER???

anyone knows how to raise a cross bar?

i'm trying to add a cross-bar to my 2013 ER6N but my problem is that the gauge is right in the middle..

the reason for adding the cross-bar is NOT strength! it's so that i can mount stuff on it.

is that even a good idea? cause usually cross-bars are thin...... i don't now i'm running out of ideas here i'm going crazy!

how can i modify this handlebar to add more space for accessories. it's totally out of space...

i need some sort of U rack/bar or something there..

any idea would be appreciated

thanks

Just out of curiosity, could we see a picture of your current setup?

Found the right forum, didja?;)

I would use the dog bones off of bark busters. Swivel them up and put some 7/8 tube across.

No Brent. Or tie in across the mirror perches. Whatever, it's gonna be fiddly.

between the mirror perches! that was my idea but i'm using cafe racer mirrors lol!
it is definitely gonna be fiddly! ideas much appreciated.

Aren't your mirror perches moulded into the controls? If using bar end mirrors the perches would be empty,no? Pics?

yes sir
the mirror 10mm slot there is empty. but it's all one piece with the controls

I mean, as you have it, with all the crap on it

the only space available on this pic that i sent is on the left hand side and it's being occupied by my 12 volt socket... that's pretty much it... they cluttered this whole handlebar with adding the gauge to it.. the bike looks amazing though now i must say but it's so annoying. there is not a lot of space as u can see!

There might be an easier solution. Are you familiar with RAM mounts? There's enough variety in their base mounts that you could come up with something creative. For example, they have base mounts that would work with where your mirrors attach, and on your bike those look pretty strong.

INTERESTING!

so i believe my mirror's thread is 10mm.. so in theory this one should work perfectly with a 100 bolt... (since i'm not using my mirros)

and they are cheap too!

thank u!

there goes my idea of the cross-bar lol

got it!

fyi don't buy from rammount direct unless you have to -- GPScity.ca carries most of their products, ships fast, and also from within Canada so there is no duty. I currently have a fork-stem mount and a brake-side mount, along with numerous arms and connectors (for garage door/universal, GPS, GoPro, etc).

Radioworld also carries RAM stuff, and they're right on Steeles & 400 ... though I have never dealt with them personally

gpscity sounds good... they don't have the black version of the iphone waterproof case.. only chrome but i can live with that.

You could put a 7/8 bar across your two mirror mounts and a bolt through at each end into where your mirrors went, that way you could use a bunch of ram mounts/mount whatever you want.

This was one of my ideas. But how do I achieve this?
what are all the parts that I need to order
a 7/8 handlebar would be fantastic.
