Buying brand new bike, tips ?

I'm starting to catch a moto bug and I'm thinking of buying bike this year instead of next spring.
One of the things pushing me for buying now is that I'm interested in 2014 Ninja 300 ABS in Black, 2015 never released in black, so maybe I can still find few new ones in black from 2014.

Kawasaki lists it's price for $5100 after some rebates, but I see different prices on kijiji and autotrader.
My question is, what should I expect as far as pricing goes, same as Kawi website, can negotiate lower, or might be higher ?
Any extra fees the dealers might put on ?
Never bought a bike before, so new experience for me :)

at $5100 for the ABS, you wont have any negotiating room at all. The season is here, those will be sold like hot cakes.

Picked up a 2015 300ABS in white - no room at all for negotiation - got a couple hundred knocked off but only cuz I paid cash...went to 3 different dealers. $6800 out the door.

The 2015 300 ABS SE comes in black - looks sweet if you like the graphics kit. Kawi has a mega cash sale going on now and you can get the SE for $5300...GREAT deal for an awesome bike!

if you plan to street park, avoid black. I've had two bikes backed into and they weren't even all black. I assume blackout is much worse.

And if you think you might ride rush hour much, black might not be pleasant in the July heat.

I've always tried to do what I could to make myself easy to spot for drivers for safety reasons so that's another strike against black in my mind.

I've had quite a bit of luck in the past buying new (bought 4 new, but one of them through a hook-up). I tended to get about 10-15% off sticker but I tended to buy models that had a new model year arrive already and I bought in early June every time (I think). And none of the bikes I bought were as popular as the Ninja 300.

Hope that helps.

If the dealer wont discount the bike push to get the first service and maybe some protective gear thrown in.
Visit as many dealerships that sell the model that you are interested in preferably when they are busy and watch how they treat other customers this will give you a good idea how you will be treated. Find a place where you can communicate effectively with the staff this may be important down the road.
