Hey, just wondering about this bike. Found one with incredibly low mileage and in my budget, but I'm wary of being such an old bike. Anyone have any information about the bike, reliability, it's flaws, ease of coming by parts?. I did a lot of research online and havent found much information on it. THANKS

Parts can be hard to find for inside the engine. Cables, filters, oil and tires are around. Take it for a ride and listen to the tranny.

That's great to know. I'm not too worried about internals since the bike has such low mileage on it. Are they prone to tranny troubles or something?

these bikes are crap, don't buy it. suzuki threw these bikes together to compete in the v twin market. they are poorly enginered and the electricial is unreliabel even now that it's so old. as a mechanic, they are the worst bike to work on, all the intruder line of suzuki.

Just the insight i was looking for. After owning that 250 marauder I figured another suzuki wouldn't be a bad choice. looks like i'll be sticking with what I first intended to buy, a honda!

They've been making these things virtually unchanged since the late '80's.

There's something to be said for that. Can't be all that bad.

While I see your point, I feel that since 85 is the first year of production, it might have some issues. Maybe on later models they would've worked out any kinks.
