im starting to think kevlar jeans are just a gimmick. i see youtube vids that sartso and draggin put up on youtube. had a guy being dragged on the ground wearing the jeans. but the testing conditions were either slow speed or the ground was wet.

anyone went down wearing kevlar jeans? what were the circumstances (what brand, speed of crash, injuries.)?

thnx

Icon Victory Pant. Dragging knee at about 50-60 km/hr.
The denim wore through pretty quick, but not as quick as regular jeans.
Actually managed to burn a hole through the Kevlar as well (darker blue
patch under jeans), but I was wearing Icon plastic shin and knee guards
underneath. I'd say better than nothing.

Results in an actual off and tumble may be different.

Also, the Icon Victory pants may not have as much Kevlar as the Draggin' Jeans do.

off topic.. how do you like the icon knee shin armour. i have the knox knee armour now. but its only for the knee. no shin armour. was looking to get this icon knee shin over the winter. thought i would ask you about a little review.

if so, i find these too bulky under the jeans.

i have the large model of these right now. they do not cover the shin area as much as i would like them to.

the icon looks to be covering more area in the pictures.

but i wonder how they are rated comparing to knox armour.

It's comfortable under baggy jeans, but it's Icon, so I'm not sure it's rated for anything. I just wanted it for added abrasion protection. They fit inside my Sidi Vertigo's well. The armour is just semi-hard plastic with fabric encased foam padding behind. The straps are a little short. I don't feel I have massive calf muscles, but I needed to have the straps lengthened so that they could stretch across my calf and velcro down. I had to have someone do the alteration, but if you're handy with a sewing machine, it doesn't look like it would be too complicated.

the Icon's are comfortable, but I don't know if they're any less bulky than the Knox.

One thing about the Icon: the knee portion is held to the shin portion with 2 elasticised straps. The Knox looks hinged, which may be less comfortable.
