Revzilla is a great bike site I find with lots of brands with fair prices. Is there a store similar to that in the GTA and surrounding area ?
Would like to buy some short style boots but dont want to buy without trying them on of course. Also would like a nice pair of gloves
Preferably alpinestars stuff

Theres Gpbikes and Royal distributing in whitby

Kahunapowersports on steeles ave also has some gear upstairs

I agree their website is horrible and useless but they have a decent printed catalog and their store doesn't stink of gasoline like GP does. They do have stock of things, there is some overlap with GP but there is also plenty of things both carry that the other doesn't. The fact is, if you are visiting one, given that the other is next door, there is no reason not to visit both.

Probably because they don't have a service bay (never smells like gas to me). I hang out at the bike shop so I can smell like one, nothing beats eau d'rubber.

I went thru the catalog a couple days back and if I recall correctly they had no alpinestars, just Joe Rocket and some other random brands

That's ok. GP Bikes website will list things like multiple patterns of Held gloves and not carry a single 1 in the store.

Other than Royal, I don't think there will be any places in and near GTA that will be even close to the steep discount as Revzilla. Mind you, they are a US site and you will be tag an extra 25% duties in general plus shipping to Canada. But even then, maybe you will still save a few bucks compared to getting it locally.

Some people, not saying its you... will look for a place to try on stuff with the exact stuff that are being carried on an online store and once the size is tried, will go online to order directly there.

Depends on what you're looking for. Personally, I'm trying to find a place that has current 2013 Alpinestars stuff and it seems impossible. GP has a couple things but when I asked for specific models they don't have a clue what I'm looking for, and I need to show them online.

Kahuna had no clue about the new stuff either. I have never been to Royal Distributing so I don't know about them.

So, there won't be a place that has everything like a Revzilla or a Sportbike Track Gear.

Gasoline does not stink, it is has a bouquet. It is the whiff of roads not traveled and rides yet to come. It holds the memories of the past journeys and hope of future adventures.

I have to go smell my bike now.

Haha I love this. I've never done it yet, but I might start to. Maybe if more shops shut down because everyone was buying from the states, the Canadian government would do something about this ****** import-duty fees (like exempt businesses from it, but not civilians). They inflict duties on imported items in order to "protect" Canadian businesses. PFFFFTTTTTT A world-wide competitive market is what makes ALL economies thrive.

Not sure if you're trolling or not...but well said.

I never paid 25% duties, only HST.

This.

I was quite disappointed when I came to realize that they didn't carry the helmet I wanted to buy despite it being listed as in stock on their website. They didn't even carry the brand.

Wasted my time driving out to Whitby for nothing.

I have been to the new Revzilla store and I will say it was worth the drive. There is simply nothing in the GTA that I have found that even comes close. Simple reason, the warehouse is attached to the store front. See it online, see it in stock, you can buy it there and then. Plus the staff is amazing, I really wish Southern Ontario would wake up and realize what customer service and selection is all about.

I've found it's best to call ahead and verify. They're nice folks there.
A friend was looking for A* gloves, they didn't have them, so they ordered them in (2 sizes, in case one didn't fit). No issues.

There's no way Canada could do that. Not nearly enough potential customers as the USA. We could only dream.
