The new Suzuki GSX-R 1000, expected in 2015, could be a "direct" descendant of the GSV-R, engaged in recent months in extensive tests of aging in view of the return to MotoGP. The Gixxer road will surely be full of electronics, and the "finer ears," swear that the tree will also have to cross ...

The tests of aging Suzuki MotoGP continues apace: De Puniet is working well and the bike is growing quite fast. At the moment the times are still far from those of the opponents, but given the improvements, the team manager Brivio and Suzuki can not help but be optimistic. In parallel to the expectation of the return of Suzuki in MotoGP, set for 2015, there is growing expectation about the new GSX-R 1000 (pictured interpretation of Motorrad), too, in all probability expected in two years. The motorcycle according to well-informed could inherit much of MotoGP prototype and should be a nice detachment compared to the old Gixxer. The credit will be given mainly by the massive introduction of electronics that at the time, latita on super Hamamatsu. Who witnessed the testing of the prototype MotoGP has also been able to verify that the sound of the inline four-cylinder is very similar to the Yamaha M1. A "coincidence" that would suggest the adoption on the propeller shaft Suzuki cross, a solution that Yamaha has developed the first in MotoGP and that has now made its debut in series production equipaggiandone its three-cylinder engine. If the presence of the tree to be confirmed cross could mean that, in all likelihood, the new Gixxer could have supplied. Another rumor that is catching on is the possibility that in addition to the new Gixxer, Suzuki is also thinking about a GSV-R road, a MotoGP bike with a license plate and lights that should be to "tag along" to the exclusive Ducati Desmosedici RR and awaited RC213V road. An attractive hypothesis and no doubt practicable but at the moment it seems premature.

so in short, nothing happening anytime soon?

Sounds like crossplane crankshaft and full electronics. But "2015" may mean calendar year 2015, model year 2016, so in all probability it would be very premature for any outsiders to know anything for sure.

Suzuki has lagged behind the others in the ABS and traction-control departments (and somehow tried to market the lack of electronics to the Luddites in the sportbike crowd) but somewhere in that 2015-2016 timeframe is when ABS becomes mandatory in the EU, so they will no longer have a choice there.

Suzuki said "The 2012 GSXR1000 will be amazing". They gave us Brembo calipers, better cams and not much else. I won't hold my breath for something radical for 2015 but will keep a glimmer of hope for somethign intesting/unique.

That aside, I still love my '09 and think it's a fantastic bike and it's still my choice of the Japanese litre bikes.

Any changes in superbikes will be likely in electronic traction controls and ABS, they already have stupid power.
The next Japanese superbikes will have all the BMW doohickeys, plus dual clutch seamless transmissions.

Is this not the bike they've been testing? Doesn't look much like the current 1000 to me :dontknow:

Nothing to do with moto gp? Apparently you're incorrect if the could be comes true. The current gp bike that's being tested isn't like the 2014 gsxr 1000 at all.

It's a speculation article on the 2015 GSX-R 1000

You realize a motogp bike costs about $2,000,000 and has little/no production parts.

Ummmm, the cbr1000 doesn't resemble the rc212v, the R1 doesn't resemble the M1. Moto GP bikes have never and will never be anywhere close to a production bike. They're meant to show what a manufacturer is capable of not what they're going to release to the public.

The new GSXR will probably have some form of TC, abs options, and a slight bump in power.

and an ugly exhaust, can not forget the ugly exhaust

If they do something to revamp the body a bit and add a few electronics, I might trade in my K5 1000. Hopefully they don't **** it up.
