Can't take extended time off this summer but will try to 2 1/2 day weekends with maybe one or two 3 1/2 days.
Considering Vermont as one of them - boogie down fast on a Friday and then wander a day in the area and wander back the next with a some slab at the end. This is a for instance.

I know this is okay for some of the PA areas are well.
Looks like Eastern Ohio is doable in that time frame as well as some N Ontario and Quebec North of Montreal loops. I'd like to get these in while the days are long.
I'm mainly in tourist mode tho twisties are always a delight. Open to suggestions that are 1/2 day ( 6 hours ) by slab away.

also what to people do for phone/data while in the US? I can ride longer if I have a decent plan. Can put a US simm in a modem and then Rogers for phone ( my iPhone 4 is not unlocked )
Really enjoyed the ride yesterday with some good tunes on and found out the iPhone 4 with the Ultimate Ears lets me skip the scala and answer phone calls directly with the inline button mike while getting much higher quality music.
I'll use the Scala only for rider to rider.

Lake Champlain Islands on US Route 2
Overall, US Route 2 snakes through the lake Champlain Islands on scenic, well maintained roads. There is a vast amount to see...
This is a well maintained blacktop with lots of twisties just a pleasure to ride.
