Yes I was using it every day for six months of the year for seven years. Also, once I did have it running the other day it was fine, good power, responsive and smooth acceleration.

So adding oil to the engine cylinders definitely increased the compression across all of them. It was still hard to start but we got it going and it ran fine. Took it for a spin and everything felt good. Turned it on and off several times and no problems starting it. Then we left it for a...

Do the valves have hydraulic lifters? Could it be that since it sat for three years they need priming of some sort?

We were surprised how low the compression was as well. The throttle was wide open and we double checked all of them. Going to check the clearance next. The engine did run with no obvious problems when we had it running.

The battery is old so I did boost it with another one and even tried with a booster pack. The starter seems to turn over pretty good but I don’t really have a reference point as to what a good starter should sound like when cranking. My plan is to check the compression and then valve clearance...
