    Donovan Paige aka Reciprocity

Very sad... I purchased a steering damper from him in 2007 for my CBR600. He was a person who always wanted to help and you could trust him. RIP

    02 YZF R1 Transmission (2nd)

After 2nd gear went on my CBR600 track bike, I installed the Factory Pro shift kit and it made all gear changes fell very solid and quick.

    02 YZF R1 Transmission (2nd)

Below is a picture of a worn second gear from a YZF600R. Since the dogs are slightly rounded, there is a force on the second gear that tries to push it into neutral. This puts a lot of force on the second gear shift fork and can damage (small indent) in the shift drum. This is a great document...

    02 YZF R1 Transmission (2nd)

Just to clarify.... The teeth of the gears are not the issue. It is the engagement "dogs" You won't find any metal in the oil, as this wear is happens over time is a "compression" of the metal and not "fragmenting"

    Trail tours, horrible experience!

I was at Trail Tours last week (remember that day of all day rain?) and it was great. Most people cancelled because they didn't want to get wet. I had a semi-private lesson :) and got soaked on a hot August day. It was amazing! I did need to follow up ONCE with the booking details, but as a...

    2016_07_15 TMP Cayuga gws

Very true.... So sad. I was back at the track today and a worker told me he got into a speed wobble at the end of the quarter, hit the wall, went over the wall and crashed into the timing tower stand. (Just him, not the bike) :(

    2016_07_15 TMP Cayuga gws

I am glad to hear the rider is still with us. When I saw the firetrucks, paramedics and 3 cop cars go by, I didn't have a good feeling. Then the drag racing event was cancelled and the feeling got worse. (thinking how the cops close a road when there is a fatality...) GWS.

Brand New in Box: Ohlins SD100 - 120mm stroke Steering Damper

Brand new and still the original box! This was purchased from reciprocity in March of 2007 to be installed on my CBR600 F2 track bike. Well, it never did get installed and was found during a basement clean up. $230 or best offer. PM if interested.

    1982 rd 350

If you can do most of the work yourself go for it. (Assuming you have required skills and tools) If you are going to pay someone to do the work, it can be difficult to find someone to do good work at a fair price. Instead buy a bike already fixed up like this one for $4,000...

    Gas?

My 2 cents: I have been using only 87 octane on my 86 VFR for the last 11 years and 68,000 KM with out ANY issues. For winter storage, I use SeaFoam in the gas and I don't bother for fog the engine with oil.

Will a shift star kit solve my downshift issues on my FZ6R?

After replacing second gear on my CBR, I installed a Factory Pro shift kit. If I got lazy shifting, the stiffer spring and different profile shift star would ALWYAS finish the shift. For me, it was well worth the cost. I have not mis-shifted since. (on that bike :) )

    2005 R6 Coils Issues - Reistance Tests

I don't think the issue is your coils. A difference of 0.17 above spec should not be a problem AND all 4 coils are the same resistance. The odds of all 4 failing at the same time are almost ZERO. I would look at fuelling. I am not familiar with the fuel injection on the R6, but a bad coolant...

    CBR F4 Electrical Issues

For any old bike, it is a very good idea to open EVERY connector, remove any oxidation with 320 or 400 grit sandpaper on the "spade" and slightly crimp the "female" connector, apply dielectric grease, and re-connect. This will give you YEARS of trouble free running. Source: My 29 year old VFR :)

    1992 Kawa ZX6D - worth buying?

Can you still get parts for it? Items like rad hoses, rubber carb boots, fuel bowl o-rings, etc... My bike is 29 years old (86 VFR) and parts are getting harder and harder to get.

Any where to order online OEM Suzuki parts in Canada

Is this the same problem? http://www.motorcycleforums.net/forum/marauder-m50-secret-hideaway/42206-attention-all-m50-owners-my-issue-resolved-fix-yours-now-b4-its-late.html I don't think any dealer will carry the parts in stock, but hopefully can get them quick. It is great riding weather!

Front brake failure 4 days after being safetied - shop's fault?

Overall, the bike looks very good for its age! White rims are a b*tch to keep clean. I replaced my white rims with black ones, they hide the dirt much better.

    Rough 1st gear

Does the bike have high mileage? Over time, the clutch basket wears where the friction disk tabs touch it and it makes a small groove. The friction disk can get slightly hung up and not release as quickly as they should. The solution: replace the clutch basket, or live with it. My 86 VFR has...

DR650SE lost a bolt? New engine noise

I would do two things: (1) Very slowly and methodically go over EVERY part of the bike looking for a missing nut, bolt, or anything out of place. Shop manual may be helpful (2) Meet up with other KLR riders and see if your bike does sound different. Good luck!

CBR 600rr Running Hot on the Track

I am wondering about the head gasket... Do a compression test and see if all pressures are about even and at spec. Also make a note of the condition of the the spark plugs... If one is very different from the rest you may be on to something. High RPM and high load can push exhaust gases into...

Front brake failure 4 days after being safetied - shop's fault?

Check the brake hose... it may of split and sprayed on the bleeder. If the hose has any cracks in the rubber, replace it with a steel braided line.
