Cruiser vs Naked for 1st bike

I did check out the link, thanks, but unless something out of the blue happens in the next little while, I've pretty much decided on a new Vulcan S.

Cruiser vs Naked for 1st bike

Thnks for the heads up. I was looking at St. Onge, or Factory Recreation in Midland which is closer to me (and an easier ride home when I pick it up! ;). I may drop in to take a look at it, but the blue was my last choice for colour. I like the black one the most, orange next. lol.

Cruiser vs Naked for 1st bike

Good points. The quote I received did include full coverage. I've been looking at used bikes online, but haven't found anything yet. The problem is I'm short, and I find many of the other 650-750 bikes I've tried feel big and heavy. When I sat on the Vulcan S - it felt right. Standard...

Cruiser vs Naked for 1st bike

Good point. Would I be better off leaving it in the garage at home? I just assumed a heated storage would be better.

Cruiser vs Naked for 1st bike

If I manage to get it this year, I'll probably bring it indoors for the winter. I have a large studio area (I'm a professional photographer) and have the perfect spot for it indoors over the winter. It'll make a great conversation piece with clients lol.

Cruiser vs Naked for 1st bike

I'm liking the all black one, but I'll have to see what's available when I'm ready to actually throw the money down. The dealers in my area don't seem to carry much as far as 'stock' - basically one bike at a time until it's sold. I may have to wait a couple of weeks or so if I need to order a...

Cruiser vs Naked for 1st bike

Thanks for the input guys. I've checked insurance and I'm ok with the rate for a new Vulcan S - probably because of my age (59). I don't mind the forward controls - actually prefer them. @Zoodles95... that's the bike (not the SE though) that I've been looking at so you and Matt are on the mark...

Cruiser vs Naked for 1st bike

First of all, I'm new to riding, but a few years under my belt - just got my M2 after a training course, and looking for a first bike. I know the arguments about buying used first, but I can financially handle monthly payments better than a lump sum outlay at this time. I realize I can buy...

Good Spots to Ride to in Ontario

I agree! Terra Nova to Horning Mills is great. I also live up in Tiny Township and the ride from Wasaga Beach to Penetanguishene along Tiny Beaches Road which borders Nottawasaga Bay all around to Georgian Bay in Pentang/Midland is great area. Very little traffic during the week too.
