$2000 a year with desjardins is reasonable imo for your age. I believe Desjardins requires payment for the year upfront if you don't have a car bundled with them however.

This happened to me before on my sv, ended up adding some blue Loctite and the problem hasn't reoccurred in a few years.

Echelon raised my rates by just under 1000 a year but Desjardins came in with a quote of half of what I was paying prior to this renewal letter

Another vote for the sv650. 23 even with tickets it's still fairly cheap to insure.

If you're doing your test through drivetest you have to provide your own bike as to your original question I'm not sure.

I'll be 23 later this year and I pay less than half of that a year on my sv650s. Perhaps consider a different bike? But if you love it by all means go for it. If I already had the bike in my possession I'm sure I'd end up going through with it. On a side note I guess I should reconsider my plan...
