I forgot about salvage parts. I'll take your word for it that it can be swapped out. As far as reprogramming a key, my bike came with a third key (with a chip in it) that you have to use to get the bike to accept a new ignition key code. How would a locksmith get around that?

You don't need a lawyer...just go to the court asap and tell them you dispute the ticket. You'll go before a prosecutor. Say you want your day in court (don't admit guilt) and he/she will most likely offer to reduce the fine. Don't say yes or no, just shrug your shoulders and ask what's next...
