    Over Priced bikes

It's amazing what people think used stuff is worth. Even more so how they get mad when you point out they're over-priced.

Long Distance Riding - Seat Comfort Suggestions?

MEC has dri-fit underwear without the bicycle padding. It's in the long underwear section. I bought a pair a few weeks ago. Really good quality. $17ea.

I Almost Killed Myself Today On 11th Highway (Orillia)

+1. There's a time and a place for everything. You chose the wrong time and place. Glad you're ok.

    RG500 Rebuild Finished

With a rider that knows how to ride a 2 stroke, a Gama 500 will run down any 750 on the street. In reality, it will run with most current 9's and 1000's too. And 2 Strokes are just a LOT MORE FUN to ride!

Crazy Story about a stolen bike and a death.

Love it! That's exactly the response I'd have, although I may have been even less concerned about the thief dieing. Poetic justice!

How to Order and Pick-Up Motorcycle Gear from the US

For those of you West of the GTA (Woodstock, London, etc.), I use Blue Water Shipping in Port Huron. They're $5 a package, and they generally don't care if it sits there for a couple months before you pick it up (with the exception of LARGE items due to space. When I was in last time, someone...

When selling a bike, do you let them test drive it?

+1. Too true, especially if injuries involved.

When selling a bike, do you let them test drive it?

On the flip side, I have test-driven most of the used bikes I've purchased privately. I figure if the seller is willing, I'm going to do it. Now, when it comes to me selling one, I'm not willing to personally assume the risk so I don't allow it. Guess it all comes down to what you're...

Oops... I see Malks has already replied to that comment. +1 to what he said. :-)

When selling a bike, do you let them test drive it?

I don't think you are taking the insurance risk. Once the bike is legally sold, it is the new owner's responsibility to insure the bike. Insurance is no longer valid on a vehicle you don't own.

Used bikes, and sellers' ignorance when it comes to tires.

My new-to-me 2006 CBR600F4i had 3,600 kms on it when I bought it from a dealership a month ago. The tires have plenty of meat left on them, and they passed safety. I'm assuming they're original. I haven't noticed any problem riding, but I will replace them before start of next season...

+1 Agreed. That 125 trip was EPIC!

Buying a bike from a salvage/used dealer. Would you?

+1. I steer clear of bike salvage unless it's an absolute that the bike in question has not been down hard.

    Sportbikes are Not beginner Bikes

I do think there is wisdom in learning on a smaller bike. I started on a moped when I was 14, then dirtbikes, and my first street bike was an old Honda CD175 (1972 if I recall). I progressed thru a few more bikes like the Honda CBX 250 before getting my first RZ350 which seemed like it was...

    School me on RZ350

Loved all 4 of my RZ350's, but I have to agree with BrianP. You probably shouldn't be considering one for a first bike for all the reasons he gave.
