This happened in front of my workplace. My buddy told me the rider put up his thumb to signal he was okay but died on route to the hospital. His helmet shattered. The driver was arrested. A sad day.

+1 I remember my poor R6 had a flat rear tire. I was at work when I called. He came over loaded my bike and as soon as I pulled in he was ready to drive me to Kahuna. :)
Recent rate for a rider under 25 from State Farm is 439/M (Approx) full coverage on a R6. Pay the premium for your son if its urgent. It's going to be a tough journey for the both of you. Good luck and please post what happens in the end.

Kahuna is awesome. I picked up my Ninja 250 and R6 off them awhile back. My friend purchased a zx6r just last week. I get all my service and gear from them. Being loyal to a bike shop benefits both parties.
