I think you have that backwards. Fitting emulators involves drilling additional holes or enlarging them so they have no effect on oil flow -- which is now the job of the emulator. At least that is how they are installed on an FZR.

Did the chain break or just jump off the sprockets?

If the power loss is abrupt and intermittent, then I would first fit new plugs and charge/change the battery. Also look closely at the ignition wires to the plugs and make sure they are tight on the plugs and not cracked. /rs

If you are referring to the rear brake lever, remove it, bend it straight in a vice and re-install it.

Assuming you are measuring the slack at the same mid-point of the bottom run, then if the tightest slack is 1" and loosest slack is 2", then it is time to replace the chain & sprockets. /rs
