A customer wanted to testdrive and make a decision on a new bike (over $20K). His old one got a "service" indicator, so he took the bike to the dealership, and really nice and helping people there let him take their demo (same model he wants) for a day while they change oil.
Bike was great, fits...
some update - talked to a lawer, they confirm that i have to call insurance so insurance takes care of my bike, and lawers will take care of injuries.
They also said that most likely insurance will consider me as "at fault".
They can not sue the city or tdsb without involving insurance.
came back to the area, talked to some guys, it is not city of toronto, it was TDSB employee who were cutting the grass, spilling it on the road, planned to blow it back later, but rain started and they postponed it.
Thanks everybody, but I'd appreciate an advice - what to do?
Should I call my insurance and let them take care of the bike repair, or
should I claim with the city? and do not call insurance? Or both?
There was about 2 inches of cut grass put on the road in the right lane for about 50 meters.
I managed to keep bike upright for about 30m, but then dropped it.
Damage to the right side, pants, jacket, helmet.
Reported it to collision center.
It happened when I was driving east on Finch, just...

Well, they know how to piss people off in more or less legal way. They do not block the street - they block driveway to the company property by walking back and forth on the pedestrian walkway in front of it. Technically and legally you must let pedestrians go before turning to that driveway -...
I asked what would happen if I just cross it without waiting - they said then everybody else will suffer, because they will increase waiting time for all other people.
Now I kinda want to find a home addresses of those people and start blocking their personal driveways for 2.5 hours every...
No problem, we know that all bmw owners (like myself) are smarter then general population. :)
Captain was asked, and said "no". This is why I Am asking for legalities - I just want to try and walk -why not, it is my personal time, I am not employed at that company, why should I care about ther...
"It's a matter of the picket protocol for that location" -
Protocol says "cars wait, pedestian and bicycles go". Please comment. I see that you a very smart person. Thanks.
There is a picket line at one of my customers. They let pedestrians (and byciclists) without delay, but cars must wait, sometimes 2.5h if there are several of them, in and out. I wanted to cross it by walking my bike, but need to know legalities.
Am I a driver or a pedestrian in the eye of The Law? Can I use walkway? Wear / not to wear a helmet? Cross intersections by pedestrian green light etc etc? Link to HTA? Thanks!
Am I correct that on ABS bikes I shall hit both brakes equally hard? On my new one I intentionally tried to skid rear wheel, but looks like it is impossible - brake pedal starts vibrating violently, and that's it - no skid.
