I don't think I could listen to that much music by The Who in one sitting. The only song of theirs that I actually like is "Eminence Front".
EDIT: Forgot about "Love, Reign O'er Me".
Let me know if you end up getting one. I regularly get offered no-name batteries for power tools for review and might have some laying around. I think I may have some Dewalt 20V, for instance.
I was in the (used) market for a gas powered chipper. We have 3 acres, lots of trees, and lots of wood debris.
The advice I got from the people I knew who did this sort of work was to rent a commercial unit - basically to go big or go home.
I was looking at 3" gas-powered units.
My BIL had...
Never seen the movie - is that from Quadrophenia?
I am seriously entertaining the possibility that it might be my ride.
The look of disdain on some of the Harley Boyz I see in cottage country is palpable. Especially when I pass them.
LOL.
This Vespa might earn some respect:
These guys were definitely turning inside the proper turning lane, and nobody has ever done that to me, but I'll take that advice to heart.
I recall Young Drivers back in the day our instructor told us that you have your wheels turned left if you're in a left-turn lane with a cutout, wheels...
I believe they could be clueless to the rules. I just don't understand why it's happened twice to me in such a short time. The only thing that's changed is my ride of choice.
Each time I was in the proper position. These guys were cutting the corner way inside the proper turning lane and...
Situation: I'm sitting in an intersection waiting to make a left-turn. Lo-and-behold, when I start to make my turn, I find a car making the same left-turn INSIDE ME. One time it was a mid-20s Uber eats delivery guy, one was an older guy in a mini-van.
This has NEVER, EVER happened to me...
Honestly, by the 3rd time I'd taken the exhaust and swingarm off and put them back on again, that part was a piece of cake. The big problem the first time was pulling the swingarm off; I needed to borrow a puller. I put some anti seize on that and now it's no problem.
I've got the process...
It's still listed at that price on the HD website.
Are there other HD deals?
Pretty much everything Maximum or Mastercraft branded goes on sale for 40% very regularly. As do all their ratchet sets. If it's not on sale today, it's probably going to be on sale next week. Or the week after.
I didn't end up needing @adri's generous offer of help. Thank you @adri.
All things considered, things went pretty well today. I stuck the tires out in the sun, and it was a nice warm sunny day. Had to remove my exhaust and swingarm to remove the wheel.
I bought the MotionPro BeadPro. It...
I wish I had that power ratchet on hand today when I swapped my rear tire, which happened to involve removing the exhaust and swingarm - twice. That, or a 3/8" drive T-handle. Halfway into it I started wondering about going to Home Depot to buy it.. but my wheel was off.
Aw hell no. Even I'm not that dumb. My recent escapades were on my Vespa.
I had new tires put on the Ducati by a tire shop last year. It was at the end of the season - some of you may remember I was working for literal months trying to free a frozen fork pinch bolt. By the time it was...
That's a good thought. I DID get my old tire back on without much drama, but maybe the sidewalls are less stiff on that. I was hoping that with mounting 2 tires now behind me, I'd be able to do it without a problem. But that's only one more tire than I had done when I ruined my new one. I do...
I struggled using Dawn the first time. Probably other things I did wrong, but like I said - I need every advantage here.
That product from Napa is right-sized for me. Just not sure if it's safe to use with Ride-On sealant/balancing stuff. There's some blurbs about which tire compounds are...
He's a Vespa guy too if I recall ? @adri - you holding?
Honestly, it's only $25 for a 2.2lb tub. $43 for 8 freaking pounds of the stuff.
I don't want a tub that's going to be alternating between whispering "Throw me away" and "Keep me in case you need me". For the rest of my life.
Funnily enough, ChatGPT recommends asking shops and seeing if they'd give/sell me a small amount.
Anybody in the downtown/East end as far out to Pickering who could sell me a bit?
I have a replacement tire and am going to take another run at it. This time I want to use real tire mounting compound - I want every advantage I can give myself here. Why does the stuff have to be purchased in such huge quantities? In my lifetime I'd never be able to go through even the...
Good to know. I decided not to use the Sawzall as I thought the chances I would wreck my rims (even more) was pretty high. It's not a tool of control. But the unadulterated destruction it's capable of seemed attractive in my frustration.
I just got a cordless angle grinder. I also...
I wondered about that.
If you mean zip-tieing the sides together so that they're narrower and sit in the centre more easily - I tried that. It made it nearly impossible to spoon any part of the tire onto the rim at all. Maybe it would work better with a bigger tire. I also tried the C-clamp...
