Has anyone messed with home-made dynos?

Years ago a guy I used to know in Texas was making home made dynos using arduino, some welding tools, a big heavy metal roller, and a harbor freight table lift. This isn't the guy I knew but it's the same idea: Part 1 and Part 2 Anyone ever seen some kind of home made setup like...

    E bikes rampaging Toronto streets

Drones have onboard GPS and internal compass. They also know what their own flight path was that got them to where they are. Even if GPS was overwhelmed, drone typically wants uppies, not downies, when it looses connection (it goes to pre-programmed altitude, usually put very high to avoid...

    E bikes rampaging Toronto streets

Smart thinking. He used the restricted TTC vehicles only lanes because he knew even the cops aren't allowed on there anymore. Doesn't need to be anything that expensive. My Talaria MX-5 would comfortably do 90+ km/hr, and when my body was broken from the car accident last summer and just...

    Meditative riding, preferences and hondas

LOL. Ok, you got me. I've never driven a Miata. I'm a bike guy through and through. It just seemed like the kind of thing I can see myself taking with the dog beside me if my body is too broken to ride. Re: Soul, I see it kind of parallel to character - If you put me on the bike blindfolded...

    1st gen KLR 650 feedback

But what does this have to do with me saying it's easy to love a 650cc thumper? I wasn't comparing the two. But yes, I do keep one of mine in a country very close to Germany, and yes, when I thought I might need a regulator I was told I would have to a wait an entire 1-2 days before it would...

    1st gen KLR 650 feedback

Not quite the same thing, but another 650cc single cylinder big thumper. I read this immediately after writing a multi paragraph essay in another thread about why I love riding my BMW G650GS... I own two of them. Definitely in love with my pair of German tractorcycles. @Norcorider one nice...

    Meditative riding, preferences and hondas

If everything to do with motorcycles is easy, congratulations, you have money lol. When I was starting, I was broke. Everything to do with motorcycles was hard. Back then I would have liked motorcycles that were easier in all kinds of ways, but those cards weren't on the table at that point...

    Turning left at intersections

....Welcome to riding a Vespa. I'm sure the Mini Moto people get the same thing. Different vehicles get different levels of respect, space, attention, and consideration. And despite what the "loud pipes don't do anything" crowd will tell you, different volumes also get different results...

    Ear buds

Same. Maybe it's a Euro ear thing, otherwise @ToSlow will have the same issue. Even when I could get ear buds to stay in when I put my helmet on, as soon as I took my helmet off it's an instant game of where on the ground did those ear buds land because at least one will always fall out.

    Ear buds

What's stopping you from using the speakers in your helmet? I use ear plugs to block out the wind noise, and the speakers in my helmet. Works for me.

    Is this riding season abnormal?

Not sure if anyone else remembers but it was FUCKIN COLD right up until mid June last year.... I remember this distinctly because we barely had one solid week of really nice weather before I left for Italy, June 23rd of 2025. As someone who works in the motorcycle biz, I made sweet **** all...

    Did I ruin this tire?

If you have 35 seconds, watch from 6:05 to 6:40 and you'll see the work that goes into replacing front vs rear tire on the Vespa GTS 250:

Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

$5000, to spend another $1000 and a weekend to get it all sorted out, so that when it's all fixed up and good you can have a nice bike worth $3000 lol

    Did I ruin this tire?

Glad you got 'er all sorted out. Didn't realize it was the rear tire! Yeah, on a Vespa, that's a freakin' process. The upside is, with the single sided front end (no traditional front forkS on a Vespa, the front end uses 1940s airplane landing gear design), it's faster and easier to change the...

    Where to get tires installed?

lol. Guess we aren't a Gaoler approved team then. We've just owned a home together for almost a decade. I have 9 motorcycles across two countries. She has a horse that could either be worth $80k with a couple year's training, or could loser her $40k if it's gets injured/sick during that time...
