My older 1199 had it and I do not call it a precise shifter. There were times which shifter stayed in the same gear despite your hard foot effort. I still prefer the traditional shifter at least for urban riding.
If you can afford a 2014 VFR, I would look at a one or 2 year old Hayabusa or ZX-14 too. The Busa is so smooth and effortless to ride, even with higher insurance, its lower initial price pays off. VFR800 is so slowwww.
If the second license holder in house is disclosed to insurance company, will he/she be automatically added to the policy as the occasional rider? i.e. does insurance distinguish between occasional rider and sole presence of a second license holder.
