This is the bike I bought in 1981, my last year of high school.I bought it from Sonic Motorcycles in Scarborough. I paid $2999 +tax, about $3300 out the door. Some of the best memories of my life were on that bike.
If your using gas less flux core I’m pretty sure the gun has to be plugged into the negative terminal and the ground clamp into the positive. If your MiG welding with gas the gun is positive and ground clamp is negative.
The bikes on display are constantly changing. There’s 3 guys in a beautiful shop in the basement who’s full time job is restoring bikes so the collection is constantly changing. Believe me, it’s nothing like a Timmy’s bike night. These bikes are absolutely pristine, they look like they just came...
This may be a little out of the way but definitely worth it. The Barber Motorcycle Museum in Alabama is mind numbing. Been there twice and can’t wait to go again, it’s that good. That and The Wright Patterson Air Force Museum in Dayton Ohio are by far the two best museums I’ve ever been to.

I had a yellow ‘99 VFR and a red 2001. Best all around bikes I’ve ever owned. Wish I had kept the yellow one. Both the VFR and ST1300 gave off a lot of heat around your knees and inner thigh. I liked the VFR far more than the ST.
I think the ST1100 was actually a better bike than the ST1300 that replaced it. Lots of nice ones around if you look hard, they would make a nice daily driver.
Yes, I’ve seen that one. I’m looking for something with a couple of drawers to keep all the consumables in (contact tips, wire etc.). Plus, I think it’s kind of an unwritten rule that when you get a MiG welder your first project is to make a cart for it. I’ll post up a photo when I actually do it.
Have you tried the dealership it was purchased from? I’m afraid to ask what you pay for insurance for that bike. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of those on the road.
Your second place finish in Superbike is quite an impressive achievement.,that’s a very competitive class. What were you riding if you don’t mind my asking.
Make sure you use a 12 guage extension chord if you do that. Costco sells real nice ones that come 2 x 50’ 12guage chords in a pack for about $60. That’s a really good deal, I’ve bought dozens of them for work.
I knew two guys that rode to Florida two up on a Honda CB400-4 for March break when they were 16 years old, a pretty small bike. They wore snowmobile suits all the way there.Talk about a parents worst nightmare. That was about 1978, I can’t imagine a 16 year old kid doing that today.
Do you think he’ll take $100? I’m actually looking for a gently used rolling tool box just like that to build a mig welder cart and can’t believe what people are asking for them. Preferably made by Beach , a Canadian company that use to make toolboxes for Craftsman and Mastercraft. A thousand...
I did Mount Washington on my ST1300, I could see that being a little intimidating for some.As long as you look straight ahead and don’t look down as they say, most people will be fine. I remember as we were going up, you could smell the overheated brakes and transmissions of the cars coming...
Went to Daytona in 2000 for the AMA races and bike week which was something that I always wanted to do. Great racing but I was surprised at how few spectators were present for the actual races, stands were basically empty or appeared so because the track is so big.Met Freddie Spencer there just...
